How much does it cost to build a swimming pool?
We take a look at the price using the HESP One swimming pool as an example.
The dream of having one’s own swimming pool, an oasis of relaxation in the privacy of the garden, is close to many people. However, before we start planning the first refreshing baths, it is crucial to realistically estimate the cost of such an investment. In this article we will look at how much it costs to build a swimming pool using the example of the HESP One model ( 5 meters * 10 meters * 1.4 meters deep, more technical data here: HESP One), whose comprehensive cost of implementation by us, is 590 thousand zlotys net. We will also discuss in detail the various stages of construction to better understand what makes up the final price.
HESP One – a luxury pool designed to last for decades.
HESP One is an example of a solid, timeless concrete pool with internal overflow, finished with the highest quality Spanish glass mosaics by Ezarri. Designed for long-term use (>several decades), it combines elegance, durability and modern technological solutions. The net price of 590 thousand zlotys includes comprehensive implementation of the project – from excavation to final commissioning and testing.
This is important because it allows you to avoid unforeseen expenses and accurately plan your budget.
The stages of construction of the HESP One pool and their impact on cost:
The cost of building a pool is the product of many factors. Below is a detailed breakdown of the various stages, taking into account the specifics of the HESP One pool:
- Project:
- Working with the project – modifications to suit your needs. We customize the pool to your preferences, we will choose with you the mosaics and their pattern, select the features. In the case of finishing the pool with glass mosaics, you can let your imagination run wild. Any pattern is within reach and you can create a pool absolutely unique.
- Cost impact: The cost of the design is relatively small compared to the total investment, but it is a necessary step. A professional pool design minimizes the risk of execution errors and costly corrections later. The design is the route along which our employees and contractors move. It is the basis for all activities, from excavation to the commissioning of pool technology.
- Earthworks and excavation:
- This stage includes the excavation for the swimming pool basin and the leveling and preparation of the ground
- Impact on cost: The cost of excavation depends on the size of the pool, the type of soil and the availability of the site for heavy equipment. The more difficult the ground conditions (e.g., high water table, rocky ground), the higher the cost. The risk of potential difficulties, we shift to ourselves. The price will not change except in truly extreme cases.
- Construction of a reinforced concrete swimming pool basin:
- HESP One is a concrete pool, which means that its basin is a reinforced reinforced concrete structure with a lifetime warranty. This stage includes the reinforcement and concreting of the walls and bottom of the pool. It’s a key stage that determines the durability and longevity of the pool, as well as its geometry, which determines the final visual effect (glass mosaics don’t forgive mistakes, which is why pool contractors are so reluctant to make them).
- Cost implications: the construction of a concrete pool is much more costly than prefabricated pools or block pools, plastic pools (e.g., polyester), etc., but guarantees incomparably greater durability and the possibility of any pool design.
- Installations:
- This stage includes the installation of all pool technology, circulating pump, piping, pool lighting, water heating system (optional), as well as possible additional attractions such as whirlpool or counter-current.
- Cost impact: At HESP, we avoid cheap, plastic and unproven solutions. We rely on bronze, 316L steel (so-called marine steel) and high-end manufacturers. HESP One’s pool technology, its installation and commissioning is the lion’s share of the price.
- Finishing the basin with Ezarri glass mosaic:
- HESP One is distinguished by a finish of luxury glass mosaic from Ezarri, from which we will compose any pattern. This stage includes the reprofiling of the pool basin for the mosaic (the most accurately poured concrete has deviations that will show on the glass mosaics). By reprofiling, we mean obtaining the ideal geometry of the pool with deviations <1mm/1m. After obtaining the ideal geometry of the pool, the step of docking all passages (lamps, nozzles, skimmers, etc.) with resin and making a composite cement seal on the entire surface of the basin, which also acts as a membrane cutting off surface tensions from the lining, building its longevity. After this step, we are ready to install the mosaic.
- Cost impact: Ezarri glass mosaic and Schonox construction chemicals are premium materials that you won’t find in home improvement stores and suburban outlet stores. This significantly affects the cost of the finish. However, the visual effect and durability of such a solution are incomparable to cheaper alternatives.
- Commissioning and testing:
- After all construction and installation work is completed, the pool is filled with water and detailed tests are carried out for leaks, efficiency of all installations and water parameters. We only finish when your pool works with the accuracy of a Swiss watch.
- Cost impact: The cost of commissioning and testing depends on the amount of additional pool equipment, which is exactly what you decide on.
